Lost: One Moon Child

By Louise Norman

All my life
I’ve thought I was a moon child,
         but now astronomers say
         because of the universe’s rotation
         in the last 4,000 years...
         I’m really a Gemini!

Does this mean I should
give up all the warm fuzzies
        the Cancerians are wont
        to spread around?

I’m not really sure
        how a Gemini reacts to
        the world and
        People in it.

So everyday I read the horoscopes
       for Gemini AND Cancer,
       trying to reconcile the two.

Do you suppose there’s a
       Gemini looking for her twin,
                not knowing
       I’m really a moon child?

About the Author:

Louise Norman:  At the age of 12, I was introduced to the
wonderful world of science fiction. My father found me reading
THE erotic novel of 1946 and promptly bought me the whole set of
Tarzan books by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I enjoyed the King of
Jungle communing with all the animals, but what really turned me
on was Burrough’s book, John Carter of Mars. I began my journey.

I read newspapers and magazines for science articles which I file
away while the article geminates in my mind. I take the science fact
that’s given, let my mind run free, and explore all the possibilities.
In some instances, I let my mind urn free and come up with
theoretical suppositions that might have or will happen.
