**Read the first chapter of NIGHTMARE HOUSE, here at MSF&F!

Hi everyone!

Brian Freeman, Online Publicist for Douglas Clegg, here again with some news you might be interested in! That is, if you like the idea of a contest with around $4000 in horror related prizes! <g>

As you may already know, Douglas Clegg's new free e-mail serial novel, NIGHTMARE HOUSE, will be sent out a chapter a week to his mailing list starting on July 30th. To sign up, just send a blank e-mail to: subscribe@douglasclegg.com.  As I said, it's free and I think you're really going to enjoy the experience!

Now onto that contest I mentioned. To help get the word out about NIGHTMARE HOUSE, Doug has arranged for some prizes to be given away to lucky members of his mailing list! There are a lot of them, so here goes:

Ten (10) copies of You Come When I Call You (hardcover, limited edition)
Ten (10) copies of Purity (hardcover, limited edition)
Ten (10) copies of Mischief (hardcover, limited edition)
Twenty-Five (25) copies of the paperback of Mischief
One Hundred (100) copies of Naomi (hardcover, limited edition)

And there will be some trivia quizzes too! Each week there will be one to two horror trivia questions and the prizes include:

12 1-year subscriptions to Cemetery Dance Magazine
5 4-issue subscriptions to Cemetery Dance's comic book series, Grave Tales.

So we're talking about nearly 175 prizes worth around $4,000! As always, the chance of winning depends on the number of members on the list at the time of each give-away. All decisions are final. But how can you go wrong? At the very least you get a free horror novel delivered a chapter at a time to your e-mail box! A lot of people are going to be walking away from this with some very beautiful books, so be sure to tell all your friends!

If you want to learn more about NIGHTMARE HOUSE, feel free to contact myself or Doug. And to subscribe to the free e-serial novel, send a blank e-mail to: subscribe@douglasclegg.com

Best wishes, Brian Freeman Online Publicist for Douglas Clegg

Ah Ha!

Caught ya!

This is a seldom traveled path.  Those that have stumbled into this private domain have advanced warning...

warning...

warning...

Will Robinson.

The next MSF&F contest event will be the 2000 Feghoot Contest.  Yes, boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, friends, Romans, countrymen...FEGHOOTS.   Sharpen that pencil, engage that brain, make it so... And you could be the winner of the 2000 Feghoot Fiction Contest.  Remember, the prizes are small, the acclaim is minimal, but...well there is no butt.

Look for detail soon.  Contest will begin, ah sometime or other.  We are always on schedule, at least once in a while, but are we having fun...hmmmmmmmmmmm!  Jury's out on that one.

Flash Fiction Winners

What you have all been waiting for!

The Winners of the 1999

Millennium Science Fiction & Fantasy Magazine

Flash Fiction Contest.

We are proud to announce the winners of our Flash Fiction Contest. All of the almost 200 entries were outstanding. The exacting art of writing a complete story in 100 words or less is a real challenge and it was a difficult choice for the judges. To attest to that fact, our judges are bald from pulling their hair out and toothless from all that gnashing during the final decision process. But we finally made it.

The winners will receive cash awards and be published in The Special Flash Fiction Digest Supplement to both Millennium Science Fiction & Fantasy Magazine and The Roswell Literary Review print issues. In addition each winner will be featured online one at a time in Millennium through the year 2000.

We at Millennium Science Fiction & Fantasy Magazine would like to personally thank every one of the talented authors who entered. The original contest was designed for 9 winners, but because we had such a wealth of good entries, we have chosen 12 plus one special honorable mention for a total of 13 winners.

We want you to know that you are all winners as far as we are concerned. But as in any contest, there are those that stand above the crowd and so we are honored to post them here:

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL

Drum roll please.

"May we have the envelope, Please?"

"The envelope? Oh dear, now where did I put that darn envelope? Ahh–here it is–Ta-Da."

[One more Editor’s note: (Yep, another one. You know how wordy these editors can be.)

Since there were more winners than we originally intended, and we have decided to include writing tips about what we have learned about writing and publishing flash fiction, the original 12 page supplement has grown considerably. Because of this, the cover price of the chapbook will be $4.00 (post paid). All the orders from our loyal readers and contest entrants that pre-ordered for the, pre-advertised, lower price will be honored at the pre-advertised price and will be among the first to receive this handsome chapbook along with our subscribers to our print copies.]
