In the ? 60's there was a sci-fi story in which a lone spacecraft pilot was trying to defend Earth against an invading planet-destroying machine called a ?Beserker. To defeat this unbeatable machine the pilot put himself in suspended animation and had his pet monkey play the machine in a game of chess. The monkey made random moves and thus defeated the logical machine. Does anyone know the name of the story and where I might find it? Thanks.
