Workshop set today on commercial core
Issaquah
A community workshop will be held today on the Central Issaquah Plan, a new land-use blueprint for the city’s commercial core. The area includes more than 900 acres on the valley floor along both sides of Interstate 90.
The workshop will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Pickering Barn, 1730 10th Ave. N.W.
Those attending will be asked to help answer two questions: How much growth should Central Issaquah accommodate? And where should that growth be focused?
City leaders say the area - home to recently built projects such as the Hilton Hotel and Issaquah Transit Center - has significant redevelopment potential.

Meeting next week on road corridor
The city of Redmond will hold a public meeting for the Redmond-Woodinville Road Corridor Study from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 15.
The meeting will discuss how best to balance the corridor’s increasing traffic flow, with the desire to preserve its natural habitat and character.
The outcome of the study will determine future needs for Red-Wood Road and for 154th Place Northeast, as well as improvements to intersections, trails and pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
The first meeting, on July 26, focused on the green character of the corridor.
